TMYTEK and Keysight co-found an O-RAN millimeter wave measurement center

Innovative R&D capacity to enhance OTA measurement verification to meet the high growth of 5G and satellite communication market

TMY Technology Inc.(TMYTEK), which specializes in 5G mmWave solutions, announced today that it has joined forces with Keysight Technologies Inc. to establish an O-RAN mmWave measurement center. The two parties hope to work together to enhance the measurement capacity of Taiwan’s technology industry in the R&D and design of products related to mmWave communications in order to verify the design function and performance of Antenna-in-Package (AiP) for 5G O-RAN and satellite communications systems. This will help Taiwan companies to embrace a new wave of industrial growth set off by the 5G communications revolution.

This mmWave measurement center can not only test the performance of array antenna modules but also construct, play, capture and measure O-RAN traffic, and then verify whether the O-RU complies with the latest O-RAN specifications. Its ability to communicate with the multi-vendor interoperability of O-RAN based open network equipment allows it to access a comprehensive range of cross domain and multi-channel O-RAN protocol measurements in both downlink (DL) and uplink (UL).
